The Nightmare by John Henry Fuseli

An interpretation of John Henry Fuseli painting by Chloe and Jessie. (Year 8)

Almost as soon as I awoke from my slumber, I noticed my beloved sister carefully lay over my elegant chaise lounge as pale as the moon shining over her body. Sat above her was a golden gargoyle staring at me with its sharp eyes. Her long crystal white gown added to the paleness which was now Elizabeth.

 By Chloe.

Struck in disbelief; my mouth aghast with horror, my eyes as wide at the shimmering moon only just visible through the feeble red curtains, I stood staring at a young girl laid gracefully on a bed. Her head dangled lifelessly over the edge, as the arm followed. Like a proud lion, with a devious smile grin to rival the devils, a demon, with eyes full of hatred and full of loss, sat on the top of the women.

 By Jessie.
